Dave and Lindsay - Surprise Proposal at Hemlock Hill Farm

There's something magical about a surprise proposal that bring so much joy and excitement to the heart. When you surprise your partner with a proposal, you catch them completely off guard and capture a moment of pure emotion. It's a moment that they'll never forget, and it's something that you'll both be able to look back on with fondness for years to come. That is what happened with Dave and Lindsay at the beautiful and picturesque Hemlock Hill Farm.

Dave proposed to Lindsay with beautiful horses (her favorite) watching.

Knowing your partner and proposing in a way that is special for the two of you is one of the most romantic gestures of love.

The staff at Hemlock Hill Farm did a wonderful job at creating a lovely atmosphere where the happy couple could celebrate their new engagement with champagne and delicious snacks in their event tent on the property.

When you surprise your partner with a proposal, you show them that you're willing to take risks and are committed to keeping the spark alive in your relationship. With Dave, he wanted to catch Lindsay completely off guard by taking her on a tour of Hemlock Hill Farm - while secretly planning to propose to her there.

We chose the perfect location at Hemlock Hill for Dave to drop to the knee, which was my cue to come out of hiding and start photographing. Lindsay was absolutely surprised and thrilled. I was so happy to be able to capture her authentic reaction without her knowing what was coming beforehand.

After she said yes, we made some lovely portraits of them being their most authentic selves with each other, basking in their new chapter as engaged partners. Dave and Lindsay are both enlisted in the Army and are dedicated to serving the USA. This means that each of them is stationed in a different part of the country and they don’t get to see each other as often as they would like. However, now that they are engaged to be married, they will finally be able to live together after many years of being in a long distance relationship!

After the proposal and our portrait session, we went to Lindsay’s parent’s house where there was a huge engagement party gathering of their friends and family waiting to celebrate their engagement! Their families are some of the most kind and welcoming people I have ever met. They treated me more as a guest in their home which meant so much to me and my family.

A surprise proposal is a beautiful and unforgettable way to capture your love. It's a moment of pure joy and emotion that you and your partner will cherish for the rest of your lives. So if you're considering popping the question, consider a surprise proposal – it might be the sweetest way to do it. Dave and Lindsay, their families, and their special surprise proposal at Hemlock Hill Farm will live on in my heart.
